A Fresno food business levels up again

I don’t mean to be an alarmist, but if you don’t have your Taco Truck Throwdown tickets yet, it’s time to buy them. As you may know, I’m the co-founder of Taco Truck Throwdown and TTT15 is right around the corner — Saturday, November 7.

We’re talking Too Short, Malo, La Sonora Dinamita and two dozen of the best taco trucks in town.

Fresno Street Eats

I remember the first time Naan Up did a Fresno Street Eats event. They were a pop-up tent, serving food they had cooked up at the Clovis Culinary Center and selling it at our Harlan Ranch location. 

More than a year has passed since then. They got a nicer tent. One of the ones with custom graphics and all that. Then they started to do more events, more locations. Soon, they were busy, serving their Indian street food at markets all over town. 

This weekend marks another milestone. Naan Up is debuting their new food truck at our River Park location on Saturday. One recurring theme you hear from me in this newsletter is entrepreneurs chasing their dreams and doing so at Fresno Street Eats events. 

So we’d like to give a round of applause to Naan Up on this next chapter on their business. 

Because Naan Up is leveling up.

Our Burgers & Brews event is this Saturday. It’s much like our Tacos & Taps event, but burgers instead of tacos. So you get free bus rides between seven different Clovis breweries and taprooms. Yes, FREE. 

It’s a fun way to explore the local brewery scene. Adventurous, even. 

There’s no official starting place. Just pick any of the participating breweries — Crow & Wolf, Burning Sun, Reborne, House of Pendragon, Mad Duck and Summer Fox — and hop on the first bus you see. It’s that easy. The event runs 12-8p.
